Good Morning Jenny
Well, actually it is not really a good morning as I am back at work today…
What an excited, awesome and wonderful time we had at Bhanga, it was so awesome, wish I could stay there for ever. On our way there we accidentally took a wrong turn off and ended up by Potgieter, but he quickly put us on the right track again. When we arrived at Bhanga, immediately someone came and assisted us, we got Peter as our camp guy, cleaning the camp and washing the dishes and chasing the monkeys away. This is the guy that is cross eyed, I can definitely recommend him. Then we heard that Baardman was involved in a car accident and could not assist us with the fishing, but then we got “ freeman” who assisted us, I can also recommend him to be used by future visitors.
We went on a turtle tour, led by “Wonder”, also very professional, but what a walk on the beach, at least 5km, but it was worth our while, we got to see 3 turtles laying eggs.
The fish didn’t want to bite, as a whale stranded down south where we were not allowed to fish, thus all the fish were feeding from the dead whale, but we managed to catch 6 fish, 3 striped Grunter, 1 rainbow fish, and 2 Pompano’s(Wave Garrick’s)
We also visited God Knows tuck shop and supported them by having a few ice cold lagers and having a chat to the owner and other community members.
We were also entertained with a Zulu dance by a few children, and then had to dance with them.
We also communicated with the other community members, my nephew can speak Zulu and therefore we could build a nice relation with all the local community.
The weather was also good, except 1 day that we had rain, so we decided to go to town and did some shopping.
We were unfortunately only 2 people as the other 2 pulled out 2 days before our departure due to unforeseen circumstances, but still we enjoyed it very, very much.
Bhanga Nek will definitely be highly recommended by me.
Thanks
Eduard
